John Ackley
Implant and Precision Manager

John has a very impressive background in the dental industry having worked in Manhattan as the lead technician for 6 years with doctors Tarnow, Fletcher and Zamzok at their private practice. In his time with these remarkable leaders John was fortunate to have worked on some of the finest implant cases in this country and fabricated the restorations for over 2,000 fixtures. Being responsible for the construction of countless full-mouth reconstructions, many of them completely implant borne, the time he spent in that office gave him a very advanced perspective on comprehensive treatment planning. John first received his training with the United States Air Force at the School for Health Care Sciences in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was stationed at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington DC where he was educated as an independent duty technician with expertise in crown and bridge, porcelain, composite full and partial dentures, orthodontics and implants. He has extensive knowledge in everything from precision milling and porcelain veneers to sleep apnea appliances. Over the years he has done many presentations to study clubs on subjects ranging from implant treatment planning to cad/cam clinical integration. In 2007 John joined the team at BonaDent as the Implant & Precision Manager. He also heads up the advanced technology research team that looks into emerging technologies in the dental industry and parallel applications from industrial manufacturing. The team is constantly striving to eradicate variables in the fabrication process to improve clinical and esthetic results. Some of the projects he is currently working on include digital impressioning and open architecture cad/cam communication between systems and CBCT/CBVT technology for implant treatment planning. There is nothing more enjoyable to John than helping clinicians who are passionate and committed to great dentistry succeed. John has been married to his wife Laura for 20 years. They live in Seneca Falls with their five children Hunter, Zoe, Griffin, Ava and Skye. Together the family enjoys music, gardening, auto racing and lacrosse.
