Congratulations to Dr. David Green and his team at Premier Dental Care in Boynton Beach, Florida, for being May's Premier Practice of the Month. Dr. Green is a graduate of the New York University College of Dentistry and of the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, and the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and has extensive experience in implants. Dr. Green has been a partner of BonaDent's since October, 2010 and does a wide variety of restorations ranging from crowns and bridges to veneers and implants.

Congratulations to Dr. Mary Beth Wicker and her team at WB Perkinson and Associates in Huguenot, Virginia for being named BonaDent's Premier Practice for the month of April.
Dr. Wicker has been practicing general dentistry since 2000. She is a graduate of Mary Washington College and Virginia Commonwealth University. She has served as adjunct clinical faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry since 2008, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Richmond Dental Society.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Wicker enjoys playing soccer and hiking, and has hiked about 1,400 miles of the Appalachian Trail so far. She also flies small engine planes, and is very involved with Pilots 'N Paws, a national charity that pairs pilots with rescue groups to transport animals to places where they will be adopted. She is also one of our Iron Dentists, participating in multiple marathons in Richmond.
While Dr. Wicker enjoys all phases of comprehensive general dentistry, she especially likes placing and restoring implants. Dr. Wicker has been working with BonaDent since 2008, and we are proud to be able to service her fixed and implant needs. Dr. Goldberg has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. Together with Jill, Sharon, Donna, Kerri, Laurel, Sherri, Sherey, and Kathie, the team serves their patients every day in the business of creating smiles and changing lives. With Dr. Goldberg, patients experience old-fashioned, caring dentistry, while still benefiting from the latest advances in dental technology.
In addition to the friendly treatment that the team provides to their patients, they are also very involved in giving back. They host drives for food banks, school supplies, and holiday gifts for their community. Each Halloween, they organize a candy buy back to support deployed troops. These are just a few examples of the extra steps Dr. Goldberg and his team takes outside the realm of dentistry in order to create smiles and change lives.
Dr. Goldberg is a doctoral graduate of the Temple University School of Dentistry. He practiced in Florida and New Jersey before moving to Massachusetts and purchasing the practice in 1999, and two years ago moved the practice into it current home. He and his family enjoy an active lifestyle in their local community. In his free time, Dr. Goldberg coaches youth sports. As an avid sports fan, he encourages his team to show their spirit in the office on Sports Mondays, when they can show off their gear for their favorite teams.
Dr. Goldberg has been working with BonaDent for almost 10 years, and we are very proud to partner with someone who appreciates patient care and supporting his local community. Even as he watched the snow accumulate Friday outside his new office, BonaDent President Bruce Bonafiglia harbored no regrets about deciding to stay here instead of moving the company to Florida.
"I'm extremely happy and excited about staying in New York, regardless of the weather," Bonafiglia said.
With good reason.
We'd like to start off this New Year looking back, and taking a moment to commend and pay tribute to one of our long-standing and loyal customers as he retires from dentistry. Dr. Arnold Baum of Lafayette, New York retired this past December, after more than 40 years in dentistry. Dr. Baum was one of BonaDent's most loyal customers, as he's been using our laboratory for over 25 years.
Dr. Baum graduated from the University of Buffalo Dental School and opened his Lafayette practice in 1969. Although now retired in West Palm Beach Florida, he still plans to stay involved in dentistry through volunteer work.
In addition to recently taking up surf fishing, Dr. Baum is also an avid golfer, and skier. He loves to bike, and enjoys a good card game as well as working around the house. He has three children, Richard, a General Dentist in New Jersey, Gregory, a Cosmetic Surgeon in Syracuse, and Jennifer, who is a publicist for a trade magazine in Washington, DC. He and his wife Estelle are the proud grandparents of eight grandchildren.
Dr. Baum has always had a great sense of humor, and is known among his team and around our lab as the doctor who can always make your day better, even after just a short conversation. As he enjoys his retirement in sunny West Palm Beach, we wish him the best of luck, and he will certainly be missed.

Congratulations to Spinelli Dental, our Premier Practice for the month of December. Dr. Glen Spinelli and his team are located in Rochester, New York, and have been working with BonaDent for over a decade. The practice itself has been in business for over 35 years, and was started by Dr. Glen's father, Dr. Mike Spinelli. Dr. Mike has since retired to sunny Florida, and turned the practice over to his son.
Spinelli Dental offers its patients a variety of services, including tooth whitening, oral health screening, veneers, implants, Invisalign braces, metal-free crowns, and full or partial dentures. They strive to provide their patients with every available comfort while in the office, including free Wi-Fi, TVs with DVD players in the exam rooms, and noise canceling headphones for their appointments. Together with staff members Deborah, Sheila, Adelina, Barbara, Carrie, Denise, Maria and Joyce, Dr. Spinelli works every day toward helping his patients receive the oral health care they want and need in the most comfortable atmosphere possible.
Dr. Glen Spinelli graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo (U.B.) School of Dental Medicine. He is currently a member of the peer review board for the Seventh District Dental Society, as well as being a member of the New York State Dental Society, American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. O. Lee Wilson, a graduate of University of Alabama School of Dentistry, has been involved in the program since its creation in 1990. He did his own residency at University of Tennessee School of Medicine and has gone on to inspire other residents for over two decades. Dr. W. Timothy Williams is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Memphis, and has been practicing dental medicine for over 20 years himself. Both are members of the American Dental Association and fellows of the Academy of General Dentistry. Together with their team of over 20 private practitioners from the community, these doctors dedicate their time to the development and continued education of dentistry residents.
The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine has had the postdoctoral residency training program in general dentistry for 21 years. The program’s objective is to produce general dentists who have developed a level of clinical competency in an environment where there is an increased reliance on total patient evaluation, and alongside their colleagues in the health care community. The program is the only postgraduate curriculum of its kind in the country, and offers its residents exposure in the areas of hospital, general, and forensic dentistry. The goal is to utilize the values of professional ethics, lifelong learning and patient-centered care in professional practice.

Now in its third year, The BonaDent Christmas Project raises money to deliver gifts to less fortunate families in the Finger Lakes Region. BonaDent employees no longer exchange gifts among ourselves, instead we take collections — which the company matches dollar for dollar — to provide Christmas gifts for 5 Seneca County families, with 15 children among them, who range in age from 7 months to 15 years old.
"Once again, I'm really proud of how the BonaDent family has responded to the needs of local families," says BonaDent President Bruce Bonafiglia. "This spirit of generosity and sensitivity to the needs of others, particularly during the holiday season, makes me especially proud of our employees."

BonaDent is pleased to announce the promotion of Joe Nigro to Technologies Manager. Throughout his tenure at BonaDent, and especially in his previous role as CAD/CAM Supervisor, Joe has been particularly effective at managing large volumes of cases while maintaining BonaDent's stringent quality control standards and tendency toward esthetic perfection. Joe oversees all digital imaging, fabrication and milling for the lab, and has been instrumental in expanding the lab's capacity by integrating emerging technologies.
Says BonaDent President Bruce Bonafiglia "Joe has proven to be dedicated, hardworking and an effective communicator with both our internal and external customers. We're all tremendously excited as Joe transitions toward this key management role."
Joe has been with BonaDent for five years, and began his career working in crown and bridge under BonaDent Florida's Operations Manager, Scott Smith. As Technologies Manager, Joe oversees seven lab technicians and works with five digital manufacturing systems. A majority of cases that come into the lab find their way through the Joe's department at one point or another, from wax patterns for PFM substructures to fabrication of implant bars for overdentures. CHICAGO (July 12, 2010) – The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), a professional association of more than 35,000 general dentists who are dedicated to professional excellence through the pursuit of continuing education, is pleased to announce that Bruce W. Small, DMD, MAGD, of Lawrenceville, N.J., received the association’s 2010 Albert L. Borish Award during the AGD 2010 Annual Meeting & Exhibits, held July 8 to 11 in New Orleans, La.
The Albert L. Borish Award honors an individual who has demonstrated innovation and leadership as well as dedication to the advancement of dentistry, and has made positive changes for the benefit of the profession and dental health of public. The award is named in recognition of AGD member Albert L. Borish, one of the foremost experts on continuing education. Although visually impaired, he exhibited courage in the face of adversity. Only 18 of the AGD’s 35,000-plus members have received the Albert L. Borish Award since its inception in 1973.
“We express our gratitude to Dr. Small for his innovative leadership and his dedication to the field of general dentistry and the AGD,” says AGD President Fares M. Elias, DDS, JD, FAGD. “He has distinguished himself professionally amongst his peers and demonstrates the characteristics of a role model to his fellow dentists.”
Dr. Small graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1973 and currently practices dentistry in Lawrenceville, N.J. In addition to being a member of the AGD, Dr. Small belongs to the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, the Academy of Operative Dentistry, the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the American Academy of Gold Foil Operators. He currently serves as president of the Academy of Richard V. Tucker Study Clubs. Additionally, Dr. Small is an associate professor of restorative dentistry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Small has presented more than 400 postgraduate continuing education programs since 1985.
